Eliasch's first words as new FIS president: "A great opportunity for the whole movement"

The Swedish tycoon was elected with a large majority, and Flavio Roda (again in the FIS council) also applauds him: "I am confident in a good collaboration".

The first words of Johan Eliasch as new president of the FIS, after today's election that saw the 59-year-old Swedish (with double passport, since he also owns the British one and was a candidate from that federation), CEO of Head and entrepreneur of success, dominating with 65 of the 119 votes (or 54.62%) that earned him the seat of number 1 of the International Federation already in the first round, beating the competition of Urs Lehmann, Sarah Lewis and Mats Arjes. “I am extremely happy with this result - said Eliasch - and I welcome this vote as a great opportunity for our movement. I would like to thank Gian Franco Kasper, whom I have known for 25 years: I am sure we would not be what we are without his long work. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him soon. I am ready, I will keep my head open to listen to everyone, and I thank the delegates for the trust they have placed in me ”. The President of the FISI, Flavio Roda, was re-elected to the FIS Council and thus expressed his thoughts on Eliasch's triumph. “The best congratulations go to the new President Eliasch - his words - to whom I wish a fruitful and effective work. Certainly, his election represents a novelty in the world of winter sports and I am sure that we will be able to collaborate better in the coming times. To Gian Franco Kasper, from today our honorary president, I offer my best wishes for a prompt recovery of his health. I hope to find him soon in the World Cup locations ”.
