On the beaches of Costa Rica, for the only real vacation lived together for at least a year.
Mikaela Shiffrin and Mathieu Faivre, the best-known couple of the white circus, chose the island that overlooks the Caribbean to spend one of the few periods of relaxation.
As the 24-year-old from Colorado confessed, "Mathieu and I have to jump through hoops to spend some time together, both during the preparation period and during the racing year. In recent months we have seen each other at Christmas (with Mikaela training in San Vigilio di Marebbe, a guest of the Moelgg family, given the wonderful relationship that binds her to Manuela, ed) and in very few other occasions ".
Shiffrin continued to ski until the first days of May at Mammoth Mountain and now, having returned home for the last commitments with sponsors and whatever else, he will begin preparing for the assault on his fourth consecutive World Cup.
And Mathieu Faivre? After the wonderful 2016/17 season and the two following that saw him far from the top of the giant, he is expected to play it with the best specialists; the 27-year-old from Isola 2000 has launched some important signals in recent months, returning to the podium in Saalbach (third) after more than a year and a half of abstinence and finishing in 5th place, his second best result of the season, in the Cup final Soldeu.
