Roberta Midali wins again: she owns the FIS giant ahead of Sophie Mathiou and Carlotta Saracco

The Bergamo rider precedes the Aosta Valley and Piedmontese in the first FIS appointment on the Trentino snows, with the German Gratz who wins in the men's race (good 6th Matteo Bendotti).

He is trying to get back to the top, perhaps to regain a place in that World Cup that he attended several times. Roberta Midali's start to the season had already been good enough, also fighting last weekend in the slalom in Valle Aurina for the first points in the European Cup, but today for the 26-year-old from Bergamo a success finally arrived, in the first of two giants (and on Wednesday there will be a slalom to close) valid as a FIS race on the snows of Folgaria. The blue preceded the very young Sophie Mathiou from Valle d'Aosta by 58 cents, with Carlotta Saracco for the umpteenth time on the podium, third at 77 cents from the winner and well ahead of Karoline Pichler, another talent in search of a lift, and Vivien Insam who finished fifth. In the male giant (very high level) the German Fabian Gratz won, beating the American River Radamus (+ 0 ”24) and the Russian Nikita Alekhin, half a second away. Best blue Matteo Bendotti, winner last weekend of a FIS slalom at Kronplatz, with a good sixth place at 1 ”06 from Gratz and ahead of Matteo Canins, eighth, and Tobias Kastlunger who closed the top ten.
