A spectacular downhill slope is what is announced for the world championships that Courchevel will host in 2023.
During this week, the coaches of the French national team inspected the world championship track: accompanied by Bruno Tuaire, director of the Club des Sports of Courchevel who has been organizing the World Cup competitions for years in the Haute-Savoie resort, Xavier was present Fournier, Stéphane Sorrel, Yannick Bertrand and Joe Galinier, all impressed by the difficulty of the track planned for the fast races.
The best solutions were evaluated to create a course suitable for the standards of a great men's downhill run and the judgments were unanimous: the track is spectacular and very demanding. “There is room in width to make really nice curves - the words of Fournier, head of the transalpine speed group, released at Ski Chrono - The speech of brightness and the great slope at the end of the track can be complicated; there are four big bumps, several changes of direction and the work done so far has been super ”.
"I think that only Bormio can be more tough - said Yannick Bertrand, one of the technicians of the Equipe de France - The track is magnificent, there will be great jumps and we have thought of spaces of 70-90 meters between the doors, a little 'as in Bormio to try to control the speed that will be imposed by the slope ".
A next official visit is scheduled for July 21, when the same FIS will arrive in Courchevel with the great sector leaders, from Hannes Trinkl to Emmanuel Couder and Jean-Philippe Vuillet himself.
