A selection has been made official with the two world champion in charge of downhill, but who has just returned from two very hard seasons (but on the Olympia delle Tofane ...). The gigantist will be there despite the back pain, then many young people who can do well.

Sixteen athletes, with seven women and nine men on the track for the medal goal in Cortina 2021.
It is a Slovenia with a couple of great champions and many young players, but also unknown ones that will present itself at the next world championships. Starting with the one represented by Ilka Stuhec: we are talking about the two-time world champion in downhill, a title won in the last editions of Sankt Moritz 2017 and Are 2019, but yet another knee injury suffered the week following the extraordinary bis title in Sweden, on the occasion of the Crans-Montana races, heavily influenced the 2019/2020 season and also the current one of Ilka.
The best result is the 4th place obtained in the first descent of Val d''Isère, at the beginning of the season, but it is equally true that the Olympia delle Tofane is a track that is well suited to the characteristics of Stuhec, winner in super-g in 2017 and second and third in the two descents of 2019, both won by Ramona Siebenhofer.
In the fast races we will also see Marusa Ferk, but the other medal card in the women's sector is represented by Meta Hrovat, returned to high levels in giant in the races of Kranjska Gora, even if the Cortinese slope really represents another story compared to the Podkoren. And then again Tina Robnik, conditioned by physical problems but still present, Ana Bucik, Neja Dvornik and attention to the '97 class Andreja Slokar, who dominated in the European Cup slalom and could invent something important in the race between the narrow poles that will close the world championship on February 20.
Nine men are expected: Zan Kranjec is the team's beacon and will focus everything on the giant, but certainly the approach was not ideal with the back problems that forced him to miss the last two races in Adelboden. In speed, as well as in combined, Martin Cater, the only Slovenian winner of the season, will try with that flash in the Val d''Isère descent (objectively, then, he showed us very little), in addition to Miha Hrobat and Bostjan Kline.
Stefan Hadalin will play both technical races and there will also be a good opportunity for Nejc Naralocnik (downhill and combined), Rok Aznoh and the slalomists Tijan Marovt and Aljaz Dvornik.
