The adventure of the Italian national team of grass skis has begun officially in view of the competitive vintage that is just around the corner.
The new technical director Fausto Cerentin is working, from Friday until Sunday 12 May, on the slope of Schilpario, with all the athletes summoned for the first meeting: we are talking about Edoardo Frau, Mattia Arrigoni, Lorenzo Gritti, Nicholas Anziutti, Daniele Buio , Pietro Guerini, Davide Saviane, Filippo Zamboni, Andrea Binelli, Alberto Bleynat, Marco Combi, Fabrizio Rottigni, Nicolò Schiavetti, Nicolò Libardoni, Alessandro Martinelli, Marco Milesi, Fabrizio Rottigni, Monica Ferrighetto, Antonella Manzoni, Margherita Mazzoncini and Chiara Milesi.
Just in recent days, the FIS has defined the complete calendar for the 2019 season, which will start on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May with the FIS races (slalom and slalom sprint) in Piestany, Slovakia. The World Cup will start on 15-16 June, with five scheduled stages (Rettenbach for the opening, Pledklasteri, Cortina, Dizin and the finals from 12 to 15 September), for a total of thirteen men's and women's races. The novelty is represented by the entrance of Cortina d''Ampezzo, which will host a giant and a slalom on the weekend of July 6-7, for an ideal twinning with the slopes that will host the Alpine skiing World Championships in 2021.
The finals of mid-September will also be held in the Italian mountains, even if the location is still to be defined. The senior world championships scheduled from August 14th to 18th will be held in Marbachegg, Switzerland, while the World Junior Championships will be held in Stitna Nad Vlari, in the Czech Republic, from July 31st to August 3rd next.
