The Latvian world championships immediately give Italy a medal in the first of the four scheduled days of competition.
Lucia Scardoni has taken a great silver in the 10 km women's classic technique, surpassed only by a sacred monster like Natalia Nepryaeva (who played the World Cup with Oestberg until the last month of March). ..); the Russian in fact preceded the Venetian cross-country skier by 33 seconds, who in turn maintained a good margin (16 ") on the Swedish Linn Soemskar, bronze medal.
A Madona were assigned three other titles: in the 20 km men's, always in classic, the gold went to a well-known name of the world fund as Alexander Bolshunov, who formed an all-Russian podium by beating Chervotkin and Poroshkin. Azzurri on the shields with an excellent Matteo Tanel, sixth, while Michael Galassi finished 13th.
At the junior level, 20 km that smiled at the Swede Johan Ekberg, winner ahead of the Norwegian Korsaeth and the Russian Grigoriev, while the best blue was Riccardo Lorenzo Masiero with a decent 9th place at 2''36 "of posting, followed by just 12 seconds from Andrea Gartner, with the Friulian who finished 11th.
Finally the junior girls on 10 km, with another Russian hat-trick signed by Faleeva on Kuskova and Bylinko; 12th and 13th place respectively for the sisters Alba and Laura Mortagna. Tomorrow the sprints, with the same world champion Alba still pointing to the medal.
