Monday, May 1, 2017 expired the deadline for submitting his nomination to the World Ski Championships 2023. Today, the FIS has officially recognized the resorts in the race. There were no surprises at the last hour, as they presented the two locations that had long since announced the will to compete for the event.

The Slovenian region has never hosted the event, but it is at the fourth consecutive nomination after those vacated for the 2017 edition (defeat 3-12 at the Lahti ballot), 2019 (eliminated in the first round with 3 preferences on 17 ) And 2021 (2 votes out of 17).
The former Norwegian capital has already organized the World Championships in 1997 and is the second attempt in a row. In the race in 2021 he picked 4 preferences to 17. It should not be forgotten that while Norway was the venue for another edition of the Nordic Ski World Cup, which was held in Oslo in 2011.
The FIS will make a decision during the June 2018 Congress.
