The new wind of Italian ski jumping.
It is driven by three Val Gardena sisters, namely Lara, Manuela and Jessica Malsiner, already protagonists in the World Cup and capable of writing a page of history in Hinzenbach, with the triple presence at the same time in a stage of the maximum circuit.
A certainty for the movement is represented by the 19 year old Lara, five times in the top ten (with the 15th final place) and able to take the first podium in the CoC, with the 3rd place in Hinzenbach, and the bronze medal won at the World Cup youth.
Manuela's return to the races after a year lost due to injury, in addition to the first high-level races of the youngest of the family, Jessica, who at 17 years won in the Continental Cup on the trampoline of Notodden. And with them, the experience of Elena Runggaldier (7th in the Trondheim race) was very useful to make the whole team grow.
On the male level, on the other hand, jump Italy is really found in the year zero: without the veteran Sebastian Colloredo, who retired from the activity last spring, Alex Insam completely missed, while Federico Cecon struggled but still has took home a decent 10th place in the Continental Cup in Planica. Some good news came from the Junior World Championships in Oberwiesenthal, with Daniel Moroder, Mattia Galiani, Francesco Cecon, Domenico Mariotti and Giovanni Bresadola discreet protagonists in the world championship.
