A high risk races flight Planica 2014

The renovation of the historic Letalnica bratov Gorisek started very late and is unlikely to be completed for the upcoming winter season.

According to rumors, the organizing committee of Planica FIS would have asked to change the timing of the World Cup in 2013 - '14, where at the last two races are scheduled on the trampoline flight of the Slovenian town. The restructuring that will allow the "Letalnica" to return to be the largest trampoline in the world (the record was acquired by the renewal of the system after the last Vikersundbakken Norwegian) was supposed to begin in the spring, instead the work started only a few weeks. In all likelihood, the delay will prevent the completion of the renovation in time to host the competitions scheduled between 20 and 23 March 2014. As a result, the organizers have forwarded the request to the International Federation to move the last two races of the season on Bloudkova Velikanka, or the large hill in Planica. Therefore the flight tests in the next World Cup are likely to be only two, those programmed in Bad Mittendorf in January. In fact, the World Cup Harrachov have no value for the crystal ball. The FIS will decide what to do in the week between 2 and 6 October, when they meet the so-called sub-committees meeting in the autumn. The new Letalnica bratov Gorisek is designed to allow jumps of 250 meters in Rel safety (currently the world record established in Vikersund by Johan Remen Evensen is 246.5 meters) and even it is assumed that in the future we can get to make jumps of 270 meters. It seems to wait until 2015 to watch the show.
