In spite of the quota maximum earned for the Olympic Games, Switzerland has made his choices in view of the 2014 Sochi deciding not to take full advantage of the available places.

It will be only two Swiss nationals engaged in Russia during the XXII Olympic Winter Games:
Simon Ammann (1981) Deschwanden Gregor (1991)
This is not a surprise since Ammann and Deschwanden are the only athletes to have met the stringent criteria imposed by the federation to take part in the 2014 Sochi, namely:
- A top-10 World Cup-two top-25 World Cup-a top-25 World Cup and Continental Cup podium
Consequently Switzerland waiver to the test team, opening the door to the repechage of other athletes. Specifically, the contingent of South Korea rises from 2 to 4 people, one of Canada from 2 to 3.
