A vintage that has brought a historic result, but in general the growth and return of the blue skeleton to the top.
On March 1, 2020, Valentina Margaglio and Mattia Gaspari wrote a very important page of the movement, winning the world bronze in the team event in Altenberg; for 72 years an Italian had not won a medal, that is, from the era of Nino Bible, gold at the Olympic Games in St. Moritz 1948.
Margaglio had already been among the best during the European Cup year, with two podiums in four races and 9th place in the World Cup in Innsbruck; in addition to the 26-year-old from Casale Monferrato, it was the season of Mattia Gaspari's great return to high levels after the double injury that had interrupted the Ampezzano's career on the most beautiful.
And among the happy notes there is also room for Amedeo Bagnis: at the debut in the cup in Winterberg, the 20 year old in strength at the Bob Club Cortina immediately touched the top ten, after having dominated in the European Cup with three successes.
Alessia Crippa also did well among the young women, with two podiums on the continental circuit where Elena Scarpellini (7th in Koenigssee) and junior Alessandra Fumagalli also stood out.
