The appointment with the summer race that rewarded the two German champions returns to Ilmenau. Senior blue just out of the top ten.

After the cancellation of the Ilmenau stage last year, the traditional appointment with the FIL Summer Luge Cup is back in the German town. Now in its 28th edition, the classic in the Thuringia region attracted 40 tobogganists from four countries (Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland) with around 400 spectators attending the races. In the women's race success for the world champion, the German Julia Taubitz, who preceded her compatriot Dajana Eitberger by only 7 thousandths, while the lowest step of the podium went to the Swiss Natalie Maag. For the blues, Annalena Huber's 11th place and Alexandra Oberstolz 13th.
Among the men the German Johannes Ludwig excelled, beating Sebastian Bley and Moritz Bollmann. In the men's Young A victory for Paul Socker on the large Italian patrol made up of Lukas Peccei, Philip Brunner, Leon Haselrieder and Manuel Weissensteiner, who conquered the positions from second to fifth. In the Junior category, Alex Gruber was 11th in the men's race.
