Tobogganing: the start of the 2022/2023 CdM has been postponed due to the World Cup

Through an official press release, FIL announced that the new sledding season will start on 2 December 2022, no longer on 25 November as in the first place, all for reasons related to the television coverage of the event, given the contemporaneity with the Qatari World Cup.

Change of program in the sledding world in view of the new World Cup season. The International Tobogganing Federation has announced that the seasonal stage will always be in Innsbruck, but the CdM 2022/2023 will start with the original Tyrolean second appointment, no longer with the first, which should have been staged from 25 to 27 November. The new season will thus begin on 2 December 2022, and the stage removed from the Austrian location will be recovered from 24 to 26 February 2023 in the Winterberg circuit, which will be protagonist in the season for the second time, after the first chapter (10-12 February 2023 ). The second stage that will be staged in Winterberg will also be the final act of the 2022/2023 World Cup season. The reason for this positive outcome is not directly linked to the world of winter sports, but to the concomitance of one of the most important sporting events of the year: the edition of the '' Qatar 2022 '' World Cup. According to FIL, it would not have been possible to guarantee live television coverage of the different races, so this decision was made, necessary to guarantee the right visibility in the world of sledding.
