Tobogganing on a natural slope: triumphal closing of the Azzurri World Cup, the 3rd gold with Lanthaler-Gruber arrives

The Italian national team also triumphs in the team event of the Umhausen world championship event. Gruber is also silver in the single with Pigneter bronze behind super Kammerlander.

A closure of the world championships of luge on natural track, simply triumphal for the blues who greet the event in Umhausen, Austria, with 3 gold medals, 2 silver and 1 bronze collected in just four races. After the titles between women's singles and doubles with Evelin Lanthaler and Pigneter / Clara, it is the South Tyrolean champion who drags the national team towards the gold trio, dominating the mixed team race with Alex Gruber. Lanthaler and his team-mate even won with a clear margin of 2 seconds over the Austrians Unterberger / Kammerlander and over 3 over the Russians Lavrenteva / Egorov. Previously, the men's single had seen Italy touch the sensational poker of titles, prevented only by a great champion such as Thomas Kammerlander: the Austrian was literally a prophet at home, winning clearly (64 cents) in front of the same Alex Gruber, great silver, and to Patrick Pigneter who took bronze.
