The speed skating World Cup was taken on Belarussian ice and Italy took home, in the first two days of the competition, four top ten placements between the men's and women's sectors.
First the sixth and the tenth place respectively obtained by Davide Ghiotto and Andrea Giovannini on the 5000 meters, with Francesca Lollobrigida 13th on the 3000 debut, while on Saturday the same Giovannini (Fiamme Gialle) finished in 9th place in the men's mass start, disappointing and also quite unlucky placement, after taking home the second place in the semifinals, which did not pass Michele Malfatti (SC Pergine), 18th at the finish line.
The other top ten blue of the day arrived from Francesca Lollobrigida (Aeronautica Militare) in the 1500 meters, thanks to the ninth place in the race that also saw the 13th place of Noemi Bonazza (Fiamme Oro); on the men's 1000 meters, instead, 22nd position for Alessio Trentini (V.G. Pergine), with Mirko Giacomo Nenzi (Fiamme Gialle) just behind.
Sunday the third and final day of competitions in Minsk, with eyes focused on the female mass start, as Italy can play important cards with a Francesca Lollobrigida who is a guarantee in this specialty.
