The World Cup skicross season began with a triumph in the Val Thorens women's race of an impregnable Sandra Naeslund, able to sign her 13th pearl in the top circuit in a tough big final, as the Swede had to contend with three Canadians, settled in the order with Hoffos second, Sherret third and Thompson fourth.
On the French snows, the male test led instead to the second success of the career Kevin Drury: the 31 year old Canadian bent the French Duplessis, to the first podium in the Cup, the Swiss Regez and the other transalpine Jean Frederic Chapuis.
