Everything is also ready for the snowboard cross world championships, the last taboo to be dispelled in Michela Moioli's extraordinary career.
On Tuesday in Idre Fjall, Sweden, the world championship initially planned on the Chinese snow kicks off: the first round of qualifying starts at 10.45 for men, with Italy presenting an ambitious poker made up of Sommariva, Visintin, Ferrari and Godino , an hour later the girls' first run, with the finals in both cases scheduled for Thursday, before closing on Friday with the team trial.
Moioli who started with a first and a fourth place in the only stage of the World Cup held before this unprecedented World Cup (he has never competed in Idre Fjall, where only skicross specialists have experienced), in that of Chiesa in Valmalenco last January 23-24. It will be the fifth world championship assault for the Bergamo champion, three times bronze medal between Kreischberg 2015, Sierra Nevada 2017 and the appointment in Utah two years ago. The rivals? Already in the Lombard opening it was understood that Eva Samkova (winner of the second cup race), reigning world champion, will be the direct reference for Michela, who will certainly have to contend with the American Faye Gulini (twice second in Valmalenco ), with France's Pereira and Trespeuch, as well as Charlotte Bankes.
And who knows whether Sofia Belingheri and Raffaella Brutto, who have started very well this late season, or Francesca Gallina who is going to complete the Azzurri line-up, will not be included in the challenge for medals.
