Qualification not easy for the Azzurri in Krasnoyarsk: only Moioli and Sommariva in the final stages

Snowboard cross: the first stage of the 2022 World Cup (double race on Saturday and Sunday) sees the Olympic champion fifth, with Bankes again very fast. The Ligurian ok, out of the other Italians.

In the context of Krasnoyarsk, the heart of Siberia which will host the fourth and fifth rounds of the CdM of snowboard cross, it was not an easy day, that of the qualifications that saw only the two top blues overcome the cut to access the final stages, with the first race of 2022 scheduled for Saturday morning (at 6.00 am Italian time). Michela Moioli had no big problems getting the pass with the 5th overall time, while Sofia Belingheri didn't make it to the quarters, eliminated with the 22nd time; ahead of all the cup leader, the British Charlotte Bankes who seems very fast even on the Russian track and clearly preceded Chloe Trespeuch and Belle Brockhoff, basically the main rivals of the Bergamo champion. At the male level, best time for the Canadian Eliot Grondin in front of the German Berg and the Australian Lambert, with Lorenzo Sommariva good 8th, even if he finished in a part of the scoreboard (it will start as always from the round of 16) really tough. Nothing to do for Filippo Ferrari, first excluded with the 33rd performance, Matteo Menconi and Tommaso Leoni (39th and 43rd), who had done so well in Cortina, and Michele Godino who finished 50th.
