The Bavarian has communicated its decision sixteen days after the judgment of Tas which reduces to 6 months his disqualification for the positivity & agrave; to a stimulant during the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014 and three days after his thirty-fourth birthday.
"I need three months of training where I invested my energy in another front. Not feeling able to compete during quest''inverno I drew my conclusions and I decided to end my career. The judgment of Tas showed that I did not mean to cheat and I hired the stimulant inadvertently ".
Sachenbacher, after being a long-distance runner of the highest level (3 wins in the World Cup and 11 medals in between the Olympic Games and World Championships, including two individual silvers and 3 gold in the team events) you & egrave; date to biathlon in 2012 managed to become competitive even in his new sport (three placings in the top ten) before being stopped for gi & agrave; cited doping during Sochi 2014 for which it was initially disqualified for two years, before seeing reduced his sentence.
