The German summer event, postponed by over 40 days, will be staged with 16 athletes and the two Azzurri. Since these are unofficial competitions, confirmation is awaited from the federation, which bans athletes from competing until 15 October.

The City Biathlon of Wiesbaden was in danger like most of the summer events related to winter disciplines, but already for a couple of weeks it confirmed that the event will be staged, albeit with several restrictions related to the presence of spectators and with a new date, on Sunday 27 September (instead of next 16 August) and without all the corollary that made it a real biathlon party.
Today the presentation press conference served to discover the names chosen for the two competitions planned with eight athletes each; to represent Italy there should be Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer (respectively in 3rd and 4th place in the last edition, where Lisa Vittozzi won out among women), but it is good to use the conditional since last 7 August the FISI has sanctioned the ban for their athletes to participate in international competitions until next October 15th. Since this is an unofficial event, the two South Tyroleans could get the ok for the trip, in what would be the only preparation competition for the winter season, having already missed the entire Blink Festivalen appointment.
With Wierer and Hofer, there would be respectively for the female competition Julia Simon, Ingrid Tandrevold, the German couple formed by Vanessa Hinz and Karoline Horchler, Ekaterina Yurlova-Percht, Lena Haecki and Monika Hojnisz, while among the men here is the star of Johannes Thingnes Boe (his brother Tarjei will not be there, who beat him 12 months ago in Germany), with Benedikt Doll, Philipp Horn, Quentin Fillon Maillet, Julian Eberhard, Jakov Fav and Dmytro Pidruchnyi.
