At 11:00 the start of the eighth sprint of the season, which will open an intense day full of biathlon. The men will be busy in the afternoon, starting at 3:40 pm, while in Obertilliach the junior relays will close the youth world championship which up to now has given much satisfaction to the blue team.

Staying in Italy, there will be five Italians at the start in the Nove Mesto Sprint. Dorothea Wierer with bib 16 and Lisa Vittozzi with 27 will try to fight for the top positions. Michela Carrara, starting with 64, has instead the goal of entering the points, while Federica Sanfilippo (40) and Irene Lardschneider (103) will try to qualify for the pursuit on Sunday. The best seasonal result of the Italians is the 2nd place obtained in Oberhof by Wierer, while Vittozzi boasts the 5th place obtained at the Pokljuka World Championships. Here the IBU Live Timing! Here is the starting list! The woman to beat has a name and a surname: Tiril Eckhoff, in an open streak of four consecutive victories in the format, including the world title won three weeks ago on Slovenian snow. The Norwegian, leader of the overall World Cup standings, is also the favorite according to bookmakers, with Hauser and Roeiseland much “higher”. All biathlon betting tips on CdM competitions can be found on the Godofodds.com website. Eckhoff leads the specialty ranking with 328 points, 28 more than teammate and rival Marte Roeiseland, who will try to redeem himself from an opaque world championship and keep the fight for the general cup alive. Hanna Oeberg, winner of the first two Sprints of this World Cup held in Kontiolahti, Lisa Theresa Hauser and Anais Chevalier, silver in Pokljuka 2021 will also fight for a place on the podium. All the main favorites have chosen to start in the first group, except of the Belarusian Hanna Sola (44) and of the fearsome Norwegian Ida Lien (67).
