The curling team restarts after the lockdown: 5th place in the Baden tournament

Good result for the Azzurri in Switzerland, in the fixed stage of the Curling Champions Tour. Success for Erin's Sweden.

The Italian curling team closes its first seasonal match in Baden, Switzerland with a fifth place. In the tournament held last weekend - fixed stage of the CCT (Curling Champions Tour) circuit - Joel Retornaz (Sporting Club Pinerolo), Amos Mosaner (Aeronautica Militare), Simone Gonin (Sporting Club Pinerolo) and Sebastiano Arman (Aeronautica Militare) were placed in third place in group B with three wins and two defeats: 6-5 success against the Swiss skip Schnider, 9-2 against Hess and 6-3 against Iseli, ko instead for 8-7 against the European vice champion Schwaller and for 10-6 against the Dutch of Van Dorp. Qualified for the six-team final phase, the blues then surrendered in the quarter-finals against the German champions of Muskatewitz in a match conditioned by a few mistakes and too many inaccuracies and closed on the result of 6-5. Fifth place therefore in the overall standings ex aequo with Schnider's Swiss. The tournament was won by the Swedish team led by Erin, who won the final over Van Dorp. Coach Claudio Pescia said he was satisfied after his first outing of the season following Cembra's long training and training period. Next appointment in mid-September in Adelboden, also in German-speaking Switzerland, while the debut of women's training will take place on the weekend of 18-20 September in Basel.
