Simon Maurberger takes his hat: he is also the second men's slalom in the European Cup in Val Cenis.

The South Tyrolean triumphed with a time of 1'25 "87 (7" 07 seconds lower than yesterday's race). Behind him three Norwegians: Bjoern Brudevoll second at 1 "17, Atle Lie McGrath (class 2000) third at 1" 30 and Timon Haugan fourth at 1 "88. Fifth the French Robin Buffet, then we find the Austrian Fabio Gstrein, the Swiss Marco Reymond and Austrian Mathias Graf Nono the second Italian, Hans Vaccari (+3 "01), with German Adrian Meisen finishing the Top 10.
To find another Italian we have to go down only two positions out of the top ten, testifying to the fact that the whole team behaved very well: Andrea Ballerin twelfth (ex-aequo with the German Nikolaus Pfoederl), Giordano Ronci fifteenth and Hannes Zingerle twenty-third are the other Italians in the 30. Thirty-fifth Lorenzo Moschini and thirty-seventh Stefano Baruffaldi are the last Italians who have seen the finish line. Damian Hell and Matteo Canins were out in the second heat, while Francesco Gori did not finish the first one.
With this result Simon Maurberger strengthens the leadership both in slalom and in the general classification, which sees him in the lead with 90 points right on Haugan. The next appointment for the slalomists will be on January 15th in Reiteralm, Austria, while the men's European Cup continues in Wengen, with a descent and a Super-G scheduled for 11 and 12 January.
