Last October she had again seriously injured her knee, for the fifth time in four years, after returning in the 2019/2020 season at excellent levels and having seen her career interrupted with that fall and the crash in her right knee. in the parallel giant of Sestriere.
In a slalom training session in Diavolezza, Aline Danioth's same knee had given out again (injury to the anterior cruciate and to the internal and external meniscus), but five months later the young Swiss is better and, indeed, has already started training for weeks on the snow, also taking part in the Lenzerheide finals as a forerunner of the slalom.
Given that the same articulation had undergone an intervention in January 2020, precisely after what happened in Sestriere, it was decided to proceed in two phases; first of all, at Balgrist University Hospital, the holes in the bone from the first operation were filled and there was surgery on the lesions in the meniscus. A second operation for cruciate ligament reconstruction was scheduled for early last February, but in the meantime the knee healing process went so well that Danioth was able to train again.
Now Aline, in concert with the Swiss-Ski medical staff, has chosen to have surgery anyway since, in a long-term perspective, this is the best solution for a complete recovery: "I want to live my life as a skier the most as long as possible, it is my great passion and I want to come back soon ”, the words of the Swiss slalom giant that we will see again at the gate next season.
