The Gazzetta Sports Awards ceremony was held in Milan this evening in which the best Italian athletes of 2018 were awarded.

As in 2017, the prestigious recognition of sporting woman of the year went to Sofia Goggia, another award of her career for her incredible last season in which her highlights were the Olympic gold and the Falling World Cup, in addition to three races won and six other podiums collected in the Cup. The Bergamo was preferred to Paola Egonu, trailing dell''talvolley women who won the 'silver at the last World Cup, and Simona Quadarella, triple gold 400, 800 and 1500 freestyle at the Europeans in Glasgow.
These are the other winners. Man of the Year: Filippo Tortu; coach of the year: Massimiliano Allegri; team of the year: Italy women's volleyball; performance of the year: Mauro Icardi; paralympic athlete of the year: Oney Tapia and Bebe Vio; exploits of the year: Elia Viviani; revelation of the year: Simona Quadarella; promise of the year: Francesco Bagnaia; legend: Vincenzo Nibali, Paolo Maldini and Christian Vieri.
