Katharina Liensberger and the Austrian federation, in fact, have not yet solved the case that sees the slalomgigantist at the center of a problem linked to the use of materials.
The question is known: the 22-year-old from Vorarlberg decides to switch to Kastle skiing, leaving Rossignol, but the Austrian house is not part of the partners present in Austria Ski Pool and the OESV cannot grant Katharina approval to train with the team mates and to compete, so much so that the signatures on the supply contract will not arrive in time to see Liensberger in Soelden, although a few days before it had been announced that the athlete would return to wear materials from the French house (and in the meantime Kastle has signed with Dutchman Jelinkova for his return to the white circus, ed.
Liensberger, however, apparently is not so convinced of going back to using the Rossignol brand, after months of testing another type of material, so much so that, as ORF Vorarlberg confirms, there is no agreement and the deadline of November 15 is getting closer. If by that date, in fact, there will not be the athlete's signature on the contract with Austria Ski Pool, the most awaited young woman in the technical specialty scene in Austria, it would in fact be out of the games for the entire season, starting from the Levi slalom of November 23rd.
Liensberger hired two consultants to handle the matter, saying that "I want clarity to be able to compete calmly". The federation's answer is very simple: there is nothing to negotiate, or signatures arrive to use a partner of Austria Ski Pool, or Liensberger will not be part of the national team.
And at that point there would be a real risk that the athlete would change the nationality card for the future.
