After more than ten days of research in the area around Madrid, the Iberian police confirmed the death.

At only 56, Blanca Fernandez Ochoa left us.
The first woman capable of winning a medal (bronze in the slalom at Albertville 1992) at the Winter Olympic Games for Spain, was found dead after having sought her in vain since last August 23, the day of her disappearance.
The causes of death have not yet been disclosed; Spanish police forces have found Blanca's body in the Las Dehehas de Cercedilla area, where research has been concentrated for days, not too far from the place where her car was found last Sunday.
The head of the national police, Rodriguez San Roman, along with the civil guard's colleague, Hernandez Sierra, had confirmed "that he had found the body of a woman, making the forensic police intervene to see if it was the person he had been looking for for days". Unfortunately, a few minutes later the confirmation of recognition by the family arrived.
Thirteen years after the legendary Paco's death, the first Olympic gold for the Iberian national team, in that incredible Sapporo 1972 slalom, the family symbol of Spanish skiing mourns another star.
