Mikaela Shiffrin has decided: no parallel of Lech, we need training for the next races

After returning to Levi, the American will not be there on Thursday in Vorarlberg. It is essential to find confidence in super-g and giant for the "doubles" of Sankt Moritz and Courchevel.

A decision that was already in the air and has not changed, despite the excellent sensations (and results) of Levi's away match, in his great return to the World Cup. Mikaela Shiffrin will not compete on Thursday in the parallel of Lech / Zuers, as she did last year in Sankt Moritz in the first seasonal specialty event; in this case, however, the situation is a bit different since the Colorado champion has practically not trained outside the slalom and needs to prepare for the subsequent stages of CdM, super-g of Sankt Moritz (5- 6 December) and the giants of Courchevel (the following weekend) first and foremost. The parallel was not simply taken into consideration, also because it should have taken place before Levi's slalom and there was no time to be able to prepare it as all the rivals did. Of course, Petra Vlhova in particular will have the opportunity to stretch (Michelle Gisin will also be missing, second in the cup overall ahead of Shiffrin), but for her great rival, at this moment, it is much more important to be able to get back close to her level in the disciplines that will propose a series of fundamental competitions already in the coming weeks.
