Nadia Fanchini has suffered many injuries and too many times she had to stop during her career, but this time the reason will be very sweet.
The blue champion will not be at the starting gate in the 2019/2020 World Cup races, as she will become a mother for the first time in December.

Skiing has given me so much suffering and so many joys, even last winter it was not easy when you find it hard to climb the stairs and it will seem strange to me next year not to be at the starting gate. But becoming a mother was the dream of my life, a new challenge awaits me. With 240 coins in the Cup and two victories, in the Lake Louise 2008 super-g and in the 2016 La Thuile descent, as well as 13 overall podiums and above all two world medals (bronze in Val d''Isere 2009 and silver in Schladming 2013, always downhill), the hope is to see her again maybe the following year, almost 35 years old.
