If we hadn't already seen the real Kandahar, due to the forced choice for snow problems, the lowering of the start made the first of the male giant of Garmisch-Partenkirchen a ... mini run.
Difficulties almost zeroed and very short ranking, with the (partial) surprise of Loic Meillard's name in front of everyone: the Swiss leads with 8 cents on Henrik Kristoffersen, very solid and ready to attack in the second to take crucial points in view of the World Cup, seen that the two main opponents are ... there. Alexis Pinturault is 4th at 18 cents from the head, preceded by 5 cents by Nestvold-Haugen, while Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is now a certainty even between wide doors and, with bib number 17, he is 8th at 57 cents.
With rain and humidity, the track still held up decently: the red bib Zan Kranjec is 5th at 22 cents, then Muffat-Jeandet and Faivre just ahead of Kilde. Far Odermatt and Braathen, more than a second and a half like Ligety, Italy clings to Luca De Aliprandini. The Trentino, after having touched the masterpiece in Adelboden, suffered a bit in this first, closing out of the top ten, with 1 â€08 to be recovered in the second (at the start at 13.30).
