Five blue points, a record result in the season that should make you smile.
Partly, yes, but the blue day in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, for the fifth giant of the season, brought Simon Maurberger's 15th place as the best result, entered the second heat with the 30th time and able to make the most of a track which, in today's conditions, gave way early.
The '95 class of the Valle Aurina is now a guarantee between giant and slalom, while the hope of seeing Luca De Aliprandini obtain his first podium in the World Cup has remained ... such, after the great disappointment of Adelboden. This time the Trentino had to adapt to a slope and a snow far from ideal for its characteristics, but the 18th final place is still too little (despite having skied at times very well) and puts Luca in a delicate position . In fact, he is now 16th in the giant WCSL, or 15th without considering Hirscher, but with only 6 points to defend against Justin Murisier to keep the first group. The next race in Japan, in Yuzawa-Naeba on 22 February, will be fundamental in this regard.
