Today, however, fate has returned something to the transalpine sprinter, since obviously there will be no recovery of the race and so the 26-year-old from Colmar, winner this year in Orcières and Sella Nevea, takes home the downhill title (the permanent position for the next World Cup it was already done) with 15 points of margin on the Austrian Maximilian Lahnsteiner and with the American Erik Arvidsson, also with a fixed place for next season in the maximum circuit, in third place.
The best blue in the specialty ranking will be Pietro Zazzi, 15th, while on Saturday, weather and track conditions permitting, there will be the last super-g with Giovanni Franzoni in search of an important result not so much for the fixed place in the discipline, already arithmetically precluded to the 19 year old from Brescia, as to try to get closer to the final podium in the general.
