In a decidedly open combination of Wengen, more than one could possibly foresee and certainly different from that of Bormio, the hopes of an Italian podium were shipwrecked in the slalom race.
More than Dominik Paris, already 4th after the descent and clearly engaged in one heat rapid ascent on such a demanding slope, the regrets are linked to Riccardo Tonetti, 5th after having stroked the podium.
The blue jet, in fact, is fairly satisfied with his combined, which ended in 12th place: “I am quite happy, I did well in some sections of the downhill track and in slalom it did not work best, because I could have been faster, but I am remained in the 15. They are important points ".
Tonetti, on the other hand, analyzes his slalom in which 57 cents were missing to hit the first podium in the World Cup: “I started with the right attitude, but at the top I hooked the shin guard to the pole and in the wall I made an error it cost a lot - the explanation from Bolzano - I am happy with the race and my approach, even if I wanted the final result to be different. Now I look forward and on Sunday in the slalom there will be a new possibility ".
