Roland Leitinger back on skis

Almost seven months after the knee injury, Austrian Roland Leitinger has returned to training in the snow on the Swiss Valais Zermatt glacier.

"205 days after my injury, I leave, my first two days in Zermatt went well and then I'll be on the Swiss glacier for several days," writes Leitinger on her Instagram account. Leitinger, a giant 27-year-old from Salzburger Land, broke an anterior crusader on his right knee while training in a free field at Reiteralm. Last season he was twelfth in Alta Badia. In the World Cup he had a sixth place finish at the Sölden in 2015, but he was silver medal at St. Moritz 2017 at the balls of his illustrious team-mate Marcel Hirscher.
