Season over for Stefan Brennsteiner

It was feared a serious injury for the Austrian Stefan Brennsteiner, who fell during the second run of the Olympic giant men's Yongpyong on Sunday and unfortunately the fears proved to be founded.

The 26-year-old from Salzburger Land broke the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, the Wunderteam newsman reported on Twitter today stating that the Austrian has already been operated in Innsbruck, naturally he will return in the next season as the recovery times are six months. In 19 World Cup races, where he debuted on 28 October 2012 in the giant of Sölden, Brennsteiner has placed five times in the points area, three this year, and his best result was the twelfth place in the Adelboden giant of the last January 6th.
