Only two parallel giants in the men's World Cup: skip Stockholm, women will compete in Are

An important change in the 2019/2020 calendar: no city event in the Swedish capital after 4 years.

Stockholm, in fact, has renounced to organize the parallel, both at male and female level, originally scheduled also in the next World Cup, on March 10th. After the consecutive editions from 2016 to 2019, no competition for men while the women will recover the test Thursday 12 March in that of Are, extending the weekend in the place that hosted the last world championships and that already foresaw the giant on Friday 13 and the slalom Saturday 14, before moving to Cortina d''Ampezzo for the finals. Considering that even the Oslo parallel of 1 January, with official status already arrived in May on the occasion of the spring FIS congress, had already jumped for economic reasons, the calendar of the men's World Cup will only include the two parallel giants in Alta Badia (23 December) and Chamonix (9 February), while women will have three specialty races, with the parallel slalom of Sankt Moritz on 15 December, the giant parallel to Sestriere on 19 January and, precisely, the parallel slalom of Are on 12 March 2020 .
