Montecampione, Artogne

Official tourism sources attribute around 30 km of slopes to the ski area, spread across fairly varied terrain. This figure refers to the entire historic ski domain, however: in recent seasons only some of the slopes and lifts have actually been available, and connections between the different sectors have not fully returned to operation.

During the 2025/2026 winter season, the offering was centred on the Gardena chairlift at Montecampione 1,200 and, in the higher Plan 1,800 area, on the Le Baite and Larice chairlifts, together with the Bassinale Fun Park conveyor lift. The lifts currently in use belong to the previous generation and are not particularly fast, but they serve slopes suitable for families, ski schools and ski club training.

The lower section features gentler slopes and accessible runs, aimed primarily at beginners and intermediate skiers. The Plan 1,800 sector benefits from its higher elevation, generally retains the snow better and offers more interesting descents for those who already have good technique. When the entire ski domain is accessible, Montecampione also offers more demanding runs such as the Diretta, Canalone, Secondino and Panoramica, with long stretches through woodland and across open slopes.

Artificial snowmaking covers a significant part of the slopes, but at lower elevations, opening remains dependent on temperatures and the course of the winter. Before planning a day on the slopes, it is therefore advisable to check the snow report and confirm which lifts and sectors are actually accessible.

Montecampione is going through a revival phase following the acquisition of the lifts by the company Plan 1800. The project supported by the local authorities involves replacing or upgrading the Dosso delle Beccherie, Secondino-Monte Splaza and Longarino-Monte Splaza lifts, with the aim of gradually restoring the connections between the different elevations. The process has, however, suffered delays and, until the works are completed, it would not be correct to consider all 30 km of the ski domain fully available.

In addition to alpine skiing, the area offers routes for snowshoeing and ski mountaineering, particularly in the Plan 1,800 area and towards Dosso Rotondo. In summer, Montecampione offers panoramic walks, hiking trails and numerous high-altitude cycling routes. The Gardena chairlift has also been used to access downhill and enduro trails, as part of a project aimed at further developing the mountain-bike and family offering.
