Cervinia forced to give up the snowboard cross World Cup: the December stage canceled

No competitions on December 18-19, "due to the lack of certainty on the reopening of the facilities to the public". The Bergamo stage remains on the calendar at the end of January.

Only the official status from the FIS is missing, but the announcement has already arrived from the organization itself. Cervinia is forced to give up the stage of the snowboard cross World Cup, which in 2019 saw the blues dominate with the triumphs of Michela Moioli and Lorenzo Sommariva. It was supposed to compete on 18 and 19 December, after the opening of the previous weekend in Montafon, Austria, but "due to the lack of certainty on the date of reopening of the plants to the public, with great regret we decided to postpone to 2021 the snowboard cross World Cup race ”. The first appointment on Italian snow as regards the alpine disciplines of snowboarding, we remember, will be that of Cortina d''Ampezzo on 12 December with a PGS, while snowboard cross will therefore have its only stop in Italy with the great news of Bergamo, January 23-24, 2021.
