Andr Myhrer renounces the giant to concentrate on the slalom

The Olympic champion slalom André Myhrer has decided not to compete in giant anymore to concentrate exclusively on his favorite specialty.

The fifth and last time the 35-year-old Swedish ranked among the top ten of the wide doors was in December 2016 in Val d'Isère when he was ranked tenth, while a year before he was fourth in Beaver Creek. This year he PyeongChang before winning the gold slalom had to commit to rank twenty-third in giant. "I have tried for many years to compete in giant but I have not completely achieved what I wanted - says Myhrer, who after this season could also compete in the next -. That's why it's better to concentrate and compete only in slalom ". This decision did not affect the back problems that tormented him in the last year, rather the long journeys and long separations from the family played a decisive role.
