According to the great head of the Norwegian alpine ski Claus Ryste it is impossible to understand if Aksel Lund Svindal will be able to continue competing also in the next season.

The problem is not so much the will to continue on the part of the Scandinavian native of Kjeller, Akershus County, not far from Oslo. Svindal, who will turn 36 on December 26th, will be included in the Norwegian Alpine skiing teams for next season, but the conditions of his battered knee injured in Kitzbühel in 2016 are a big unknown.
Ryste says there is no news on the knee conditions of Svindal and hardly if they will have it before the start of the season but is optimistic that his athlete is able to continue: "I'm optimistic, last year is everything went well but at the moment it is impossible to say how his knee is, Mentally I think he is convinced he will be able to continue ".
"It does not bother me at all to not know whether the star of our team will continue or not," continues Ryste. Svindal has not yet given a deadline by which it will decide whether to continue the career or not. Yet last year, despite the pains in the knee and a damaged cartilage, Svindal won two descents and a super-G World Cup reaching a total of 35, and even won the Olympic gold downhill, the first Norwegian to succeed in this specialty.
Meanwhile, Aksel just back on the skis, pointing out a small change on his helmet: "The first day of skiing of this new season.You are probably noticing that there is something new.The logo on my helmet.I still have a good relationship with Red Bull and I will continue to work with the fantastic people I know.But because of the policy in the Norwegian Ski Federation, it is no longer possible to have the logo on my helmet (there is instead the Federal sponsor Telenor that so much controversy has caused by Henrik Kristoffersen, ed.) But I'm still a proud member of the Red Bull team, and of course a proud member of the Norwegian team. "
