At only twenty-eight years Paul de la Cuesta has decided to close its racing career. The Basque specialist fast evidence has abandoned the world of snow to devote himself entirely to academic studies.

A native of San Sebastian (Donostia) de la Cuesta made his debut in the World Cup in 2009 in Soelden giant riuscendosi not to qualify for the second run. Then the 'Spanish athlete was more dedicated to speed disciplines taking part mainly in the European circuit racing where he earned a best result of ninth in super G.
Set within the limited competition in the Iberian team has allowed Paul to be at the start of two Winter Olympics (Vancouver and Sochi ed) and four World Championships (Aare, Val d' 'Isere, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Schladming) where he gather enough personal best as an eighteenth place in super combined.
Obviously the greatest satisfaction for the Basque skiers have come from the national championships, an event in which he won five titles.
In January of 2015 de la Cuesta was the victim of a bad fall during the race in Wengen evidence that the fracture of a leg cost him with the 'addition of a torn calf. The 'injury was so severe that doctors had to perform five steps to reduce the' extent of the damage. Despite the 'physician commitment, dell''incidente recovery was never completed and so the Spaniard skier decided to close his career and devote himself to studies in dental medicine.
