Swiss gold in the alpine ski team competition. Italy out in the quarterfinals

It is Switzerland that wins the first alpine team competition in the whole history of the Winter Olympics.

Dragged by Wendy Holdener and Ramon Zenhäusern, great parallel specialists and winners of all their heads, the representatives of the Confederation, after a soft first round with Hungary, have trembled only with Germany, beaten by sum of time, then in the semifinals and in the final they also defeated France and Austria quite clearly. Holdener arrives at three medals in this edition of the Games, all of different metal. A bit 'of regret perhaps for the Wunderteam, which in the quarter had trimmed a resounding 4-0 to what looked like the big favorite, Sweden, regret especially for Katharina Liensberger, winner of all his head to head. Gold to Switzerland and silver to Austria therefore, the two leading nations of alpine skiing. The bronze went to Norway, who drew with France but the sum of time has rewarded the Scandinavians for only 12 cents. After an easy first round with the Czech Republic Italy was eliminated from France in the quarterfinals and paradoxically our best representative was the youngest, the 18 year old Alex Vinatzer, winner of both the two direct challenges, the second of which with a sure Alexis Pinturault.
