Already last year, Saalbach-Hinterglemm was selected, beating off competition from St. Anton am Arlberg, Austrian as a candidate for the World Alpine Ski subsequent to 2021. Saalbach-Hinterglemm hosted the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1991, edition, which, among other things, consecrated the talent of a then very young Stephan Eberharter, winner of two gold medals.
