A super start ... in every sense. The Italy of grass skiing takes home five podiums, with two successes, on the first day of competitions in Predklasteri, the town in the Czech Republic that hosts the third stage of the World Cup.
In the supergiant sprint at the men's level, Edoardo Frau won his first victory of the season in front of the Austrian Hannes Angerer and the Czech Martin Bartak, then imitated in the women's race by Margherita Mazzoncini, very good to precede the Austrian Kristin Posch and the Slovak Nikola Fricova, leader of CdM.
In the subsequent men's slalom on Saturday afternoon, Hannes Angerer got on the top step of the podium, in front of the blue couple formed by Filippo Zamboni and Edoardo Frau himself, while Ambra Gasperi finished third in the women's test, overtaken by the Slovak Nikola Fricova and the Czech Alena Vesela.
The updated general rankings among men reward Angerer, in command with 500 points ahead of Bartak with 365 and Frau with 350; Fricova stands out among women with 500 points over Vesela (411) and Posch (405), while Gasperi is fifth with 295 points. Today the second and final day of competitions with the two giants.
