The Canadian Erik Guay, a veteran from & rsquo; yet another operation last summer, can not bring himself to risk a hasty return to the races and therefore waives the World Championships in Vail / Beaver Creek.

The 33 year-old from Mont Tremblant, Quebec, could fall for the downhill and super-G World Cup in Saalbach on 21 and 22 February. Guay has returned to training in Austria with teammates. No knee pain but not & egrave; ready to return to the race.
"After being without skiing in the last 10 months, I find it too dangerous to go in the race cos & Igrave; soon - says l & rsquo; champion of descent of 2011 -. I feel that I lack a little '' of strength in the left leg, with an additional month of training and strengthening of the leg should be ready & ldquo ;.
But Guay not exclude & rsquo; hypothesis, if things do not go your way, to completely skip this season and come back with even more & ugrave; calm in the next.
