The Canadian Olympic Committee has appointed Erik Guay, Manuel Osborne-Paradis and Jan Hudec speeds at which representatives for Canada at the Games in Sochi to try to break the fast of Olympic medals in alpine skiing which lasts for twenty years.

The last of the country of the maple leaf to be on the podium on five circles in alpine skiing is Ed Podivinsky, bronze in downhill at Lillehammer in 1994, while the last woman is Kerrin Lee-Gartner, sorprendentissimo gold in Albertville 1992, and never won an international tender either before or after. Guay is the neoprimatista of podium finishes in the World Cup for his country, 21, and was world champion in downhill in 2011, Hudec silver at the World Championships was always down in 2007.
These three "Canadian Cowboys", the heirs of the "Crazy Canucks" the early-seventies and eighties of the last century, are now part of Team Canada Olympic athletes along with 10 speed skating, curling 10, 16 bob 7 luge, skeleton 4, 8 biathlon, snowboarding and 5 of 21 women and 25 men's ice hockey.
